Woman, 18, and boy, 16, arrested for attempted murder after man, 18, stabbed in Brierley Hill

Officers rushed to the scene in High Street, Brierley Hill, at around 6.30pm on Thursday to reports that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a patient, who was quickly taken to the hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a stabbing on High Street in Brierley Hill at around 6.25pm.

“An ambulance, two paramedics, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene where, upon arrival, crews found a teenage male patient. He was treated for serious injuries before being transported to hospital with MERIT traveling on board to continue treatment en route.”

A woman was arrested following the incident and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A woman has been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Brierley Hill last night.

“We were called to the High Street at around 6.30pm after the 18-year-old man was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.”

Police continue to search for a second suspect who allegedly left the scene on foot.

The spokesperson continued: “An 18-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

“They remain in custody for questioning. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“Extra patrols are in place today to reassure the community.”
