Woman, 86, killed in accident at holiday park was ‘much loved mother and grandmother’

An 86-year-old woman who died after being hit by a van in an East Lothian holiday park in September has been identified by police.

Charlotte (Lottie) Harvie, from the Port Seton area, was on foot in the car park of Seton Sands Caravan Park when she was hit by a white Vauxhall Combo van.

Emergency services attended following the incident, which occurred at around 10.40am on September 22, and Mrs Harvie was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she later died.

In a statement, Mrs Harvie’s family said: “We are devastated by the tragic loss of our much-loved mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path, a true inspiration and forever our superwoman.

“We are deeply grateful to all emergency services for their excellent care, compassion and support during this terrible time. We would like to ask for privacy so we can continue to grieve our loss.”

The 45-year-old man driving the van was not injured.

Sergeant Dominic Doyle said: “Our thoughts remain with Charlotte’s family and friends at this very difficult time for them.

“Investigations to establish all the circumstances continue.

“We would ask anyone who can help to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1226 of Sunday 22 September 2024.”
