College GameDay Announces Week 8 Filming Location for Top-tier Showdown

College GameDay is heading to Austin, Texas for the Week 8 battle between No. 5 Georgia and No. 1 Texas. The Longhorns and Bulldogs highlight what should be a truly excellent college football roster.

Guys, this one is a no-brainer. Many assumed that Austin would be the pick for Week 8, especially since it could host one of the most important games of the season.

For one thing, the winner will be in excellent shape to make the College Football Playoffs later in the year. And if Georgia wins, the race for the SEC Championship will become much tighter later in the schedule.

The Longhorns will likely be the favorites for next weekend’s matchup in Austin. The Longhorns face a Georgia team that fell to Alabama but nearly pulled off an all-time comeback. The Bulldogs have an excellent coach, Kirby Smart, and the talent and athleticism to compete against anyone in the country.

We’ll find out exactly what Texas is over the next few weeks. The Longhorns defeated a questionable Michigan team and won their first SEC contest of the season against Mississippi State, but face tougher tests at Oklahoma this week and Georgia in Week 8.

Next weekend’s battle will begin at 7:30pm on ABC.
