Policeman caught drunk outside MP’s Shahdol Panchayat office; Claims to be IT; Suspended after video went viral

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A police officer was seen drinking alcohol outside a panchayat office while claiming to be Thana Inspector (IT) in Shahdol. The video went viral on social media on Friday and police suspended the officer.

The man in the video is said to be Ashok Singh, posted as a security guard at a local court in Jaisinghnagar, located almost 45 km from the district headquarters.

The video was shared by MP Tak on his social media. In the viral video, uniformed constable Ashok Singh was seen holding a glass of liquor and consuming it outside a panchayat office along with others. When he was approached by another young man, he proclaimed himself TI.

It appears he is unaware of where he was sitting and what he was doing.

Superintendent of Police Kumar Pratik said the officer was suspended on Saturday.

Similar incidents were also reported earlier where police officers were seen consuming liquor and immediate action was taken against them.

The incident raised serious concerns about the conduct of police personnel and their adherence to professional standards.
