Baba Siddique murder: Lawrence Bishnoi’s video call from prison with gangster Pak resurfaces

Like the gang of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiquedetails of Bishnoi’s access to cell phones and a video call between him and a Pakistani prison gangster have resurfaced.

In June this year, a 19-second video clip purportedly showing arrested gangster Lawrence Bishnoi talking to Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti went viral online. After him name emerged in Siddique’s murderPeople online pointed to the video, citing it as an example of how prison authorities helped him continue his criminal activities.

The 31-year-old gangster does not personally own a cell phone, but uses the phone of another prisoner or someone close to him. India Today had earlier reported that Bishnoi was informed about the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala while behind bars.

Bishnoi allegedly used mobile phones while incarcerated in Delhi’s Tihar Jail as well as prisons in Punjab and Rajasthan. However, prison authorities denied these accusations.

Last month, Kunal Chhabra, a gangster wanted in several cases, claimed to have received an extortion call from Bishnoi while he was still in jail.

Sources also said that Bishnoi, currently lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, has been silently fasting for the last nine days. It is believed that Bishnoi observe this silent fast whenever his gang commits a serious crime.

On Sunday, an alleged member of the Bishnoi gang, through a social media post, claimed responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in front of his office in Mumbai on Saturday night. The post also mentioned the former minister’s alleged connection with Bollywood star Salman Khan.

The message read: “Salman Khan, we didn’t want this war, but you caused our brother’s death. We have no enmity with anyone, but whoever helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang will have their scores settled.”

The Lawrence Bishnoi Gang targets Salman Khan since he hunted two blackbucks in 1998, an animal beloved by the Bishnoi community. In April this year, suspected members of the same gang opened fire at the Bollywood star’s home in Mumbai. One of the shooters involved later died under suspicious circumstances at a Mumbai police station, which angered the Bishnoi gang.

Sunday’s social media post stated: “If anyone kills any of our brothers, we will definitely retaliate. We never strike first.”

However, police have not confirmed the authenticity of the social media post, although they have confirmed that it was an incident of contract killing. Two shooters were arrested, while a third person is on the run.

While Bishnoi remains in prison, three wanted gangsters – his brother Anmol Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and Rohit Godar – run the gang in the United States.
