Inside Frogmore Cottage: Harry and Meghan’s former home that could go to Princess Eugenie | Royal | News

With the news that Prince Andrew is trying to secure Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home, Frogmore Cottage, for his daughter Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two sons, August 3, and Ernest, 1, Express.co.uk gets a closer look at the luxurious five-bedroom cottage in the heart of the Windsor family estate in Berkshire.

Frogmore Cottage has been home to several different members of the Royal Family in recent years, from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

The multimillion-dollar Windsor estate is expected to soon welcome another new resident following King Charles’ decision to evict his son, Prince Harry, and daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, last year.

After an expensive renovation before the Sussexes took up residence at the property, the picturesque home is in good shape for its next tenant — reportedly full-time Princess Eugenie.

As part of the Crown Estate, the property was previously maintained with taxpayer funds, despite not being open to the public.

In 2019, £2.4 million was spent on renovating the country house, which can be found in Home Park, Windsor, although it was repaid by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they moved to the United States.

The renovations saw the couple put their own modern stamp on the quintessentially British home.

In photos released by the Sussexes in their self-titled Netflix documentary, viewers were given a rare glimpse inside the Grade II-listed property, which has five bedrooms.

The kitchen features a large island counter with plenty of space around it – ideal for socializing in private and spending time preparing a feast for the family.

While the foundation of the 1801 home’s interior still remains, interior designer Benji Lewis highlighted that it has been thoughtfully updated with an industrial-style finish.

Although the kitchen is more modern and industrial than the rest of the home, there is a clear theme throughout.

Light parquet flooring in the kitchen and bright neutral tones in the lounge replicate the clean, Scandinavian-inspired interiors that the Princess of Wales also chose for Anmer Hall.

White and cream linen-inspired furniture can be seen in the lounge, which features walls painted in a mix of neutral tones.

Traditional features throughout the home keep the regal feel, including an antique rug in the living room and large framed artworks hanging on the walls.

The view from the cottage-style sash windows is typical of a royal home, with acres of greenery to enjoy in the private home that served as the setting for many memories made by Prince Harry and Meghan as newlyweds.

Photos taken inside the property document events including Meghan’s first pregnancy with her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and her daughter Lillibet’s first birthday party.

A sweet image of Prince Harry and Meghan joined on the sofa by their mother, Doria Ragland, newborn Archie and their dog, Pula, was also taken at the cottage.

In the gardens, sprawling green lawns surround the hidden house that could soon belong to Princess Eugenie and her family.
