Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, but we will accept submissions from families. Obituaries may be emailed to [email protected].

In addition to the obituary text, any photographs you wish to include can be attached to this email. Place the obituary text in a Word document, Google document or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify death, so include the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service responsible for the deceased’s care or a photo of their death certificate. We also request that your full name, telephone number and address be included in this email.

All payments by families must be made by credit card. We will send you proof of the completed obituary before we request payment. The obituary cannot be executed, however, until we receive payment in full.

Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but must be received by 3pm the day before they are scheduled to be published.
