An arson investigation is underway after 30 vehicles in a west Houston parking lot caught fire Monday morning.

Houston Fire Department dispatch received calls about a burning vehicle at 2400 Yorktown Street around 3:47 a.m. and fire crews arrived on the scene at 3:53 a.m., said Brent Taylor, Houston Fire Department spokesman.

At least 20 vehicles were seen on fire upon arrival. Additional crews arrived on scene and determined the number of affected cars was closer to 30, according to the Houston Fire Department. It was not immediately clear how long it took for the flames to burn out.

No injuries were reported.

Houston Fire Department Arson is currently investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

“It should take several days, if not weeks, to make contact with all the people involved,” Taylor said.
