Upcoming RTS and Command and Conquer rival Battlefall has a new multiplayer demo

With Command and Conquer almost completely silent a few years ago, many more have risen to the throne. C&C’s RTS excellence is a tough nut to crack, as even two decades later Red Alert and the original remain unmatched. This simple but effective cycle of base building and combat can be found almost everywhere on Steam, but Battle drop It looks like one of the most promising attempts to bring RTS back with a vengeance. With C&C, Mad Max, and Terminator all heavy inspirations, you can try an all-new multiplayer demo for Battlefall right now and make that decision for yourself.

Society as we knew it may be over, but the war continues. That’s what you can expect in Battlefall: State of Conflict, an upcoming RTS game published by MicroProse, one of the biggest names in strategy and simulation. With retro visuals, multiple factions to choose from, and no population limits to speak of, Battlefall certainly presents itself as a revival of Command and Conquer.

You’ll have three faction campaigns to advance in Battlefall: EFNET, Scrappers, and SEL. EFNET is humanity’s last hope, with weapons modified after the apocalyptic end of civilization. Scrappers are powered by radiation, hunger, and a good helping of madness. This faction reuses all the trash found throughout the world in an effort to survive. Then there’s SEL, the classic story of robots that become too smart for their own good. With “mind-blowing technology” and lots of computational intelligence, they’re the perfect opportunity to play Skynet if that’s what you’ve always wanted.

Faction campaigns aren’t all that will be available at launch. There will also be co-op and combat PvP modes and a built-in level and rules editor, so you can take Battlefall as far as possible. If that’s not you, Steam Workshop integration will make it incredibly easy to play with other people’s creations.

The Battlefall: State of Conflict multiplayer demo is available now and until the end of Steam Next Fest on Monday, October 21st. The full game is still expected to be released this year on Steam Early Access. You can get involved here.
