Provincial police said Sunday that a driver in the Grenville area faces a list of charges after being caught on Highway 401 for stunt driving and other charges shortly before 7 a.m.

The driver was recorded speeding 172 km/h with three other adults and a child on board.

“The fate of passengers depends on the behavior of the driver, and speeds like this put not only the lives of passengers at risk, but also those of other road users,” the OPP said on social media.

Meanwhile, the OPP in Ottawa also reminded residents that it is illegal to walk along a 400-series highway in Ontario.

Just before 9am. Saturday, police were called to Highway 416 after a report of an intoxicated individual walking along the highway.

The person asked for an Uber, but was uncooperative and aggressive when taken home.

The Uber driver was forced to stop and call the police.

The individual was then arrested and held in custody.

There was no information about charges.
