President William Ruto has once again avoided impeachment of his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, six days after an impeachment motion was approved by the national assembly.

Just three days before Gachagua learned his fate before the senators and almost a week after the members of the National Assembly voted in favor of his impeachment, the President continued on Sunday with his silence on the issue of his deputy.

Even more surprising, what is unusual for the two, is that Ruto and Gachagua have not played a joint role in recent weeks.

The Head of State who was supposed to grace the thanksgiving and fundraising for the 34th diocesan anniversary of ACK in Embu did not attend the celebrations attended by Gachagua and his allies.

Instead, Ruto joined congregants at AIC Milimani, Nairobi.

“When the senior pastor told me that they had sent an invitation to this celebration, I told him that I was going to have difficulties because it was not on my agenda, my agenda was committed elsewhere, I had to negotiate with people elsewhere to do it. part of these celebrations,” he said.

The change in his diary raises more questions about the relationship between the two; Gachagua last week blamed his boss for his problems when he said the impeachment motion could not have seen the light of day unless it was authorized by the Head of State.

As the political temperature rises due to the Gachagua impeachment, President Ruto has appealed to Kenyans to support and pray for his leadership in transforming the country.

“I will not look back to ensure that I oversee the transformation of Kenya, I ask for your support, I ask for your prayers, implementing some of the transformational changes to change our nation requires prayers, it requires commitment,” Ruto said.

The President, who described his agenda as making Kenya equal for all, reiterated his commitment to implementing key projects including health system renewal, affordable housing and environmental restoration.

“We have registered close to 12.8 million people under the new UHC program because it is our intention to ensure that no Kenyan is left behind in health matters,” Ruto said.

The Head of State also praised religious organizations for their role in advocating good health in the country, saying the government will partner with them to make the Social Health Authority a success.
