Strictly Come Dancing announces third elimination

Come dance strictly spoilers follow.

Come dance strictly announced the third elimination of the 2024 series.

This weekend, the remaining couples treated us to a series of stunning routines. But while one partnership received an impressive 39 points for the Coachella-inspired Charleston, it was time to say goodbye to another duo.

After the judges’ scores were combined with the viewers’ votes DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk found themselves dancing against their ex- Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.

Shayne and Nancy were the first to play Cha Cha on ‘Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)’ by Sub Sub feat. Melania Williams. Nick and Luba then struggled to impress the judges with their Charleston to ‘Rain on the Roof’ by Paddington2.

All four judges voted unanimously to save Shayne and Nancy, which means Nick and Luba became the third couple to leave the competition.

Speaking to Tess Daly about his elimination, Nick shared how “surprised” he feels that he fell in love with dancing.

“I was really, really surprised by how much I loved doing this and two things that happen. One is how much you care each week and the other is how much you don’t want to disappoint your partner,” he said.

Nick also paid tribute to professional partner Luba and Strictly team for looking after him during his recent injuries.

He suffered a “painful” arm injury in week two, before missing last week’s live show after injuring his knee during training.

“The only reason I was able to do this is simply because of Luba’s changes (in dancing), she has been amazing… so fabulous every day,” Nick continued.

“And I must also thank all the support team, the physiotherapists, all the people who really helped me this week and all my fellow competitors who were absolutely incredible and beautiful people. there, and I’ll love watching the rest of the series.”

Meanwhile, Luba was moved by her partner, revealing that she admired his determination to move forward, despite the setbacks.

“I have never met someone as determined as you and I remember you saying that if you do your best you will be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you,” she said.

The results episode also featured an impressive professional routine for Taylor Swift 1989 hit ‘Wildest Dreams’, choreographed by Mandy Moore and starring Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer in the lead roles.

Fan favorite rock band Snow Patrol also took to the ballroom to perform their new single ‘Everything’s Here and Nothing’s Lost’.

Come dance strictly airs on Saturdays on BBC One, as a spin-off Strictly: it takes two airs weekdays on BBC Two. Both programs are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
