Adriana Lima announces she will return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024: 'I'm Going Home'

The model separated from the brand in 2018, after 20 years and 18 shows together

Adriana Lima is back on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk.

In a video shared on Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram page, the 43-year-old model announced that she would return to the fashion show in a fun way. In the clip, Lima gets into a taxi and tells the driver “I’m going home.”

The driver then says he doesn’t know where she lives and Lima apologizes. “Can you drop me off at the Victoria’s Secret show?” she asks, before facing the camera, announcing: “I’m back!”

“Hey, we’re keeping a secret, but we just can’t do this anymore!” the video’s caption read.

“@adrianalima is returning to the runway – phew, it’s there, we feel SO much better. Tomorrow, live stream the Pink Carpet at 6:30pm ET and the show at 7pm ET on Prime Video or on our YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Busy then ? Watch later (and as many times as you want) in our #VSFashionShow.”

Celebrities were quick to comment on the epic return. “Looove,” wrote Gigi Hadid. “So good!” Jasmine Tookes chimed in. “YES”, added Camila Coelho.

Lima’s history with Victoria’s Secret is decades old, beginning in 2000. She announced that she would retire from the brand in November 2018, after working with them for 20 years and walking in 18 fashion shows. She told People at the time about how important her latest fashion show was.

“I think this year will be the highlight of my career,” said Lima. “This was my 18th show and I’m still as excited as I was on the first day. I always love being on the catwalk and being part of the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It’s my favorite thing to do.”

The following year, the brand’s annual fashion show, launched in 1995, was canceled in 2019 after a negative reaction due to the lack of body diversity, and returned in 2021 with the launch of VS Collective, with the aim of taking the brand more towards what the women want. .

Lima attended a Victoria’s Secret event promoting her feature film The tour in September 2023, which marked a new era for the brand. The film focused on “emerging global pioneers from a variety of artistic disciplines, creating on their own terms,” according to the brand. She told People about the positive changes made at the time.

“I feel that as a woman and still in fashion – I’m 42 and a mother of five, so I feel like I’m still being celebrated at this stage in my life,” she said. “It’s great to see that no matter what stage you’re at (in life), for my kids and for the new role models that are coming up, it’s uplifting,” she added at the time.
