Amazon saves its best Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra deal until after Prime Day

Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days event brought with it hundreds of great deals and lots of all-time low prices, and even though it’s now over, we’re still seeing some very attractive deals popping up — and in some cases, price drops. This is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is now cheaper than it was during the sales bonanza.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is currently on sale for AU$1,689.99, a notable drop from the lowest price seen during October’s Prime Big Deal Days period, which was AU$1,714.99. It’s not the lowest price we’ve seen for the phone (it’s already down to AU$1,636), but for what we consider the best camera phone, this isn’t a deal to miss.

In fact, I consider the S24 Ultra to be my favorite phone of 2024. After using it for most of the year, I’ve been consistently impressed with how the phone can keep running smoothly. It has the best screen I’ve ever seen on a portable device, with high brightness and an anti-reflective coating that makes it easy to use in bright environments.

The cameras are also so good that even when I’m testing a phone and using a different device than my everyday handset (as is the case now with the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold), I’ll still make sure I have the S24 Ultra in my bag in case I need to take photos, whether for product reviews or to capture memories.

And while those are my two favorite things about the S24 Ultra, I have to mention that its performance is absolutely stellar, both in terms of how well it can charge multiple things at once (like having multiple apps open at once) and its battery life. efficiency. I was able to get up to two days of battery life out of the S24 Ultra by stretching it to the limit with battery saving features.

In our Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review, we applauded the performance and battery life, noting that it’s better than ever on previous models. The titanium frame and durable Gorilla Glass add a significant amount of protection to the phone against drops, bumps, and scratches, which I can attest to (despite dropping the phone multiple times on different surfaces, it still has no visible damage after nine months ). Plus, the cameras are notably improved compared to 2023’s S23 Ultra. It’s no wonder we gave the S24 Ultra the TechRadar Recommends seal of approval.

On the other hand, it’s a big and heavy phone, weighing in at 232g (thanks to its size). We weren’t too impressed with the Galaxy AI feature set (which, to be fair, have been improved and developed since our review) and noticed that many of the best features were hidden behind difficult-to-navigate menus.

I consider myself a pedant about these things and I don’t like it when an operating system wastes my time, so without disagreeing with our review, I’ll say that you can get used to the S24 Ultra. The phone’s weight and size might be a little daunting if you prefer smaller phones, but you’ll probably get used to navigating this handset’s settings and menus pretty quickly.

We can’t give an indication of when this deal will end (and it might actually be cheaper on Black Friday), but if you’re in the market for a brilliant smartphone, do yourself a favor and consider this deal.
