Duchess Sophie shares touching message after emotional meeting

Duchess Sophie shared an emotional message after meeting victims of sexual abuse during her recent trip to Chad, a landlocked country in Central Africa.

Women moved from war-torn Sudan to Chad and became helpless refugees. The Duchess of York reportedly cried after hearing horrific stories of sexual assault.

In conversation with The Sunshe said, “I don’t even dare describe to you what they’ve been doing to the children. It’s not just sexual violence, which is horrible because they’re having to trade food and water for sex, and if they don’t they won’t kill.”

Sophie shared that women “have no other option but to leave. And yet they are lucky.”

Sharing her ‘heartbreaking’ experience of meeting a ‘silent’ girl on the Sudan border, Prince Edward’s wife said: “You have no idea what they went through. I just heard it now.”

King Charles’ sister-in-law has expressed her serious concern over the growing “atrocities” of culprits abusing children and women to meet the basic needs of life.

It’s worth noting that Buckingham Palace released a statement on October 14, stating that Sophie became the first member of the Royal Family to spend time with the innocent people of Chad.

Additionally, the Palace honored the Duchess of York for her dedicated work as a defender of women’s rights.
