Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday (October 15) met the family members of the youth who was shot dead during a religious procession in Bahraich on Sunday and emphasized that the culprits of the incident would not be saved at any cost.

“Today, in Lucknow, I met the family members of the youth who died in the unfortunate incident in Bahraich district. In this time of sadness, the government of Uttar Pradesh supports the bereaved family with full sensitivity and commitment. Rest assured that providing justice to the affected family is the UP government’s top priority. The culprits of this heinous and unforgivable incident will not be spared at any cost,” CM Yogi tweeted.

Ram Gopal Mishra was killed in the Mahrajganj Bazar area of ​​Mansoor village, where a dispute took place over the immersion of the Durga idol, resulting in stone pelting and gunfire.

The victim’s family has demanded strict action against those responsible for the incident, said BJP MLA Sureshwar Singh, adding that the government has provided compensation of Rs 10 lakh.

“The family member of the deceased met UP CM Yogi Adityanath. The victim’s family demanded strict action against those responsible and the UP CM assured them that strict action would be taken… Compensation of Rs 10 lakh was provided to the victim’s family. A house, Ayushman Bharat card, benefits of all government schemes will be provided to the family. The UP CM has told us to check if employment can be provided to the wife of the deceased in the Bahraich incident…,” Singh said.

Reinforced security in the region

The government said the situation is under control, the violence has stopped and the search for criminals has intensified.

Police and security forces are closely monitoring all of Bahraich, the government said earlier.
