Reed brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience, some of which was spent as director of nursing, as well as working in different leadership roles. Her experience includes multiple Level 1 trauma centers, skilled nursing facilities, and as a regional director of nursing in several states. She was also a professor at Catawba College.

Reed earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in healthcare management from the University of Michigan. She was a delegate to the Michigan Nursing Association and a member of several North Carolina leadership committees.

“I am excited to work with the outstanding leadership team and watch Iredell Health System grow,” said Reed.

As a skilled nursing leader, Reed will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Iredell Health System’s hospital-based skilled nursing facilities. This 48-bed facility provides short-term nursing care for those who are not sick enough to be admitted to an acute care hospital, but are too sick to go home or be cared for in a free-standing nursing facility.

Iredell Health System was the first hospital in North Carolina to request and receive a certificate of need for this type of care. In 2024, the facility was named one of the best nursing homes by US News & World Report — a status achieved by only 19% of skilled nursing facilities worldwide. Iredell Skilled Nursing achieved an overall rating of five out of five and has a High Performance short-term rehabilitation rating, the highest possible score.

Iredell Health System leadership is excited to bring Reed’s skills and care to the team.

“With Yevette’s extensive experience, leadership and dedication to quality care, she will be instrumental in ensuring standards of patient care for our residents,” said Joshua Self, vice president of operations at Iredell Health System. “We look forward to the positive impact she will bring to our team and the community.”
