Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre: Two men stabbed in frightening incident at busy Melbourne shopping center

Two men have been stabbed in a frightening incident at a busy Melbourne shopping centre.

Police say a man attacked two other people with a broken bottle inside the Waverley Gardens Shopping Center in Mulgrave at around 2pm local time.

Passers-by intervened to subdue the man until police arrived.

“It is alleged that the man stabbed two people before being detained by witnesses until police arrived,” police wrote in a statement.

The alleged victims, one aged 62 and the other aged 35, suffered minor injuries. The older man was rushed to hospital while the younger man received treatment at the scene.

A 30-year-old man was arrested. No charges were filed.
