Special Information of the Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana

Porsche has launched a one-of-a-kind 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special, celebrating 70 years since the brand’s success in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana in Mexico and marking its ongoing collaborative relationship with TAG Heuer. This car serves as the final part of Porsche’s tribute trilogy, inspired by its iconic 550 Spyder and crafted through the exclusive Sonderwunsch customization program.

This tribute vehicle commemorates Hans Herrmann’s historic third place in 1954, where he also secured victory in the Sport category for cars up to 1500 cc. This triumph was fundamental for Porsche, consolidating the brand’s legacy in motorsport and influencing the creation of the Carrera name for future models.

The 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special features exclusive design elements including Centenaire silver aerodynamic components, Carmine red stripes and yellow “55” numbers that pay homage to Herrmann’s race-winning 550 Spyder. Inside, the car offers luxurious touches such as Carmine Red leather seats, embroidered Carrera Panamericana logos and an integrated watch holder under the armrest to protect the exclusive TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana.

“This car celebrates not only Porsche’s success in Mexico, but also the stories that shaped the brand,” said Tobias Eninger, CEO of Porsche Latin America. “It completes our trilogy of Panamericana-inspired models, paying homage to our heritage in motorsport and the Carrera Panamericana.”

The car will be auctioned for charity, while the accompanying TAG Heuer chronograph will be released in October as a limited edition of 255 pieces. At the time of writing, an estimate for the 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special has not yet been released, as for the watch, it is expected to retail for 35,000 CHF via the official TAG website and authorized dealers .
