Library hosts annual fundraiser | Maple Lake Messenger

The independent, all-volunteer Maple Lake Library hosted its annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 12, at the American Legion in Maple Lake.

The event supports about 45% of the library’s annual expenses and provides a fun way for the community to donate with silent auctions, cash raffles and other games.

Although attendance was smaller than in previous years, fundraiser attendees enjoyed lucky buckets, share the pot, a wine roll, Punch -O- Rama, game night and more. The appetizers were served by Mônica da Legião herself.

The entirely volunteer-run library relies heavily on donations from the community. Its budget includes limited funding from the city of Maple Lake, Wright County and some surrounding municipalities, but the majority comes from private individuals and donations from local businesses. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year.
