Nita Ambani pays tribute to Ratan Tata

Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani offered a heartfelt tribute to the late Ratan Tata on Tuesday, remembering him as a “dear friend” of her father-in-law Dhirubhai Ambani and her husband Mukesh Ambani.

In her speech, Nita Ambani expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of Ratan Tata: “Four days ago, we lost a great son of India. Ratan Tata’s passing filled us all with immense pain. He was a dear friend of my father-in-law, Mukesh and our family. He was also Akash’s mentor. He was a visionary industrialist and philanthropist who always strived for the greater good of society,” she said during Reliance Industries’ annual Diwali dinner.

She described Ratan Tata as a “visionary industrialist and philanthropist who has always strived for the greater good of society”.

The speech concluded with a minute of silence, observed by the Ambani family, Reliance leadership and thousands of employees present.

Meanwhile, on October 9, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, shared his sadness over the loss of his “dear friend” Ratan Tata in an emotional statement on X.

“It is a very sad day for India and India Inc. The passing away of Ratan Tata is a great loss, not just for the Tata Group, but for all Indians. Each of my countless interactions with him left me inspired and energized and increased my respect for the nobility of his character and the excellent human values ​​he embodied,” he said.

He added, “With the passing away of Ratan Tata, India has lost one of its most illustrious and kind-hearted sons. Tata took India to the world and brought the best of the world to Bharat. He institutionalized the Tata House and transformed it into an international company, growing the Tata Group more than 70 times since he took over as chairman in 1991.”

One of the most beloved industrialists, Ratan Tata, breathed his last on October 9, at the age of 86, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
