How to solve the Brookhaven Hospital nurses station keypad code in Silent Hill 2 Remake

The Nurses Station is on the 2nd floor of Brookhaven Hospital, which can be reached after opening the Reception padlock and repairing the hospital’s generator. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and a scene will appear showing Maria getting sick. While she rests in one of the rooms, you can explore the hospital on your own.

Go through the doors in front of James once the cutscene ends and move forward until you encounter the first Bubble Head Nurse enemy. Once the enemy is dead, go to the northwest corner of the room to find two doors. The left door leads to the Nurses Station and is where you will find the Keyboard. Affixed to the glass to the left of the keyboard is a note that says the following:

“The code has been reset to what we agreed upon during yesterday’s meeting at doctor’s room. Like I said, I don’t want anyone writing on little pieces of paper for me to find. Be responsible, guys.

This will take you to the Doctor’s Hall on the 1st floor, but getting to the part of the building with this room requires an access key.

From the Nurses Station keypad, go south until you reach the Director’s Office. Take the west hallway and then go north once at the west end of the floor. Once at the north end of the hallway, turn right to find a staircase.

Go up the stairs and turn left twice, then turn left once more at the end of the hallway. Once at the south end of this room, break the glass to enter Examination Room 4. Go past the X-Ray Room and through the room’s other door to reach Examination Room 3. On the table is the Inner Ward Key 1F .

Return to the 1st floor lobby and follow the corridor to the north. At the end of the hallway is a locked door that can be opened with the 1F Inner Ward Key. Once through the door, turn right and go to the end of the hallway. On the right side of the hallway is the door to the Doctor’s Room. Go inside and look for a corkboard on the wall. There is a note pinned here that tells you the keypad code, but it will change depending on the difficulty of the puzzle you are playing.

Light and Standard difficulty are the same, with the note displaying 9 circles configured in the formation of a numeric keypad. A red line runs diagonally from the top right to the bottom left before going to the right. This tells you which numbers to press for the code. When on Hard difficulty, there is a tik-tak-toe game that has reached the point where no player can win. A red line through the X at the bottom left, center left, and center points, as well as the empty center right. All the points touched by the red line are the numbers you need to press to get the code.

  • Light and Standard Difficulties: 3578
  • Hard Difficulty: 7456

Return to the Nurses Station keypad and enter the code that matches the difficulty of the puzzle you are on and the door will unlock. The Nurses Station has some ammo inside, but the main reason you want to open this keypad is to go through the Nurses Station’s other door to get to the Treatment Room. This is the location for the Moldy Radiograph, which will be needed to complete the X-ray puzzle on the 3rd floor.
