Liam Payne’s untimely death shocked many fans around the world.

His unfortunate death left his 7-year-old son, Bear, who he shared with Cheryl Cole, with only memories of his father.

Cheryl Cole mourned her son’s father and also dealt with painful memories from her past that accompany Liam’s death.

John Courtney, his close friend and aspiring football player, passed away in 2005 from a heroin overdose.

The English singer said: “It put me off drugs for the rest of my life. This nightmare devastated all of John’s family and friends.”

The death of her close friend prompted her to campaign strongly against drugs.

Drugs have always been with the 41-year-old Girls Aloud member, as many of her close family and loved ones suffered from drug addiction.

Andrew Tweedy, Cole’s brother, was found living on the streets in a tent in 2021.

Cole stated that his brother had been addicted to drugs since he was a teenager.

Unfortunately, her history with drug addicts didn’t stop there, as her ex-boyfriend, Liam Payne, also indulged in them frequently.

The One Direction member, who became a father at 23, and Cheryl split in 2017.

Despite the split, the two decided to co-parent their son, even though Liam barely had custody and was rarely seen with his son.

An inside source revealed that he was struggling with mental health after the two split.

“We don’t see much of Bear on Liam’s social media, but I think he wants to prove to Cheryl that he’s getting his life back together,” the source shared.
