How Agatha always renews Billy Maximoff’s story

How Agatha always renews Billy Maximoff’s story

The comics’ original Billy and Tommy were destroyed when Wanda defeated Mephisto and his servant Master Pandemonium, while their live-action counterparts disappeared when she realized she needed to free Westview from their spell. Comic book Wanda went off the rails and killed her teammates in “Avengers: Disassembled,” then robbed most mutants of their powers in the legendary “House of M” arc. Elizabeth Olsen’s MCU Wanda also broke into a quest to get her children back during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhich was inspired by the comics without being a direct adaptation.

Marvel Studios has always freely adapted the main arcs of the comics, and Agatha all the timeThe reintroduction of Billy Maximoff is no different. With Agate being defined later Multiverse of Madnesshe has repeatedly (and suspiciously) told fans that Wanda is dead. White Vision (Paul Bettany) is somewhere preparing for his next Vision Mission story, while Billy Maximoff was revealed to be Joe Locke’s “teenager.” The characters of Agatha all the time I didn’t know he was Wanda’s son with a new look thanks to a secret placed on him by Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone).

“Familiar by Thy Side” brings together the Kaplan and Maximoff eras of Billy, simplifying the confusing comics. Locke plays an Eastview resident named William Kaplan, who celebrates his bar mitzvah with his parents, Rebecca and Jeff Kaplan. (Maria Dizzia and Paul Adelstein). The family is caught in a car accident during Wanda’s shrinking, but because William died at the exact moment Wanda erased her boys from existence, something pulled Billy Maximoff’s soul into his body. Even though William Kaplan is dead, he is the host of Billy Maximoff and has now become that character. Lilia foreshadowed that Kaplan’s life would split in two and, realizing he would become Billy Maximoff, placed the sigil on him – presumably for protection.

Vision and Wanda’s boys are missing from Marvel Comics until 2005 Young Avengersbut when they return, their souls have been reincarnated as two new characters named William Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd. Kaplan’s original alias is Asgardian rather than his current Wiccan status, but as the miniseries continues and he discovers his uncanny resemblance to Shepherd, their legacy as Wanda’s children is eventually reconstructed thanks to a trip to Mount Wundagore and a small help from Lord Pandemonium. . Instead of Mister Pandemonium helping Billy learn about his Maximoff heritage, Agatha all the time comes with an unexpected cameo from Ralph Bohner (Evan Peters) to fill in the gaps.

There was some backlash online that Lilia inadvertently caused Multiverse of Madness and Wanda’s death because she hid Billy from her, but that’s a discussion for another day. Agatha all the timeBilly is on the Witch Road to look for Tommy, but with 2008 Young Avengers Present taking the boys on a quest to reunite with their mother, a family reunion will certainly lead them down that path. Assuming Vision Mission brings their father back into their lives, the pieces are falling into place for Olsen’s inevitable return to the MCU.

Even though it may seem as confusing as the comics, having William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff as two separate entities seems more unique than using another Multiverse variant. The only problem is: what about Tommy? Repeating William Kaplan’s trick and making us believe that another child dies at the same time Tommy’s soul is freed may be a stretch, but with Billy approaching the end of the Witch’s Road, some Wizard of Oz magic could bring his brother into existence. While there’s no word on who could play Tommy Shepherd and whether he’ll appear in Agatha all the timeAnother Young Avengers tease seems like the logical way to end this sordid sorcery saga.
