Gator sunbathes on perfectly made bed after Hurricane Milton

He turned lemons into… Gatorade.

A Florida alligator was photographed sunbathing on a well-made bed floating in post-hurricane waters – sparking a flurry of cathartic jokes after a double whammy of storms hit the region.

Tracy Kirkpatrick of Suwannee spotted the jaw-dropping sight in a nearby canal and snapped a photo that made waves with local residents on social media.

“I had just come back from lunch… when I saw this alligator. We were wondering whose perfectly made bed fell into the canal, well it was the alligator’s waterbed,” Kirkpatrick wrote on Facebook.

The lounge lizard appears to be bathed in sunbeams on the bed – made with tight sheets and a purple blanket miraculously still in place – as it floats in the storm-ravaged canal, surrounded by debris.

“We love our wildlife here in Suwannee so much that we keep it as comfortable as possible,” joked another resident, Diane Strickland.

Others applauded the relaxed reptile for making the best of a situation that, well, bites — while some wondered how on earth the mattress “stayed made.”

“This emphasizes the need to make sure your bed is made well every day, because you never know what’s going to happen,” joked Strickland.

The bed had been floating up and down the canal since Sept. 26, the day Hurricane Helene made landfall about 80 miles north of the city, according to local residents.

A second powerful storm, Hurricane Milton, hit the area about two weeks later — killing dozens of people and leaving much of the Sunshine State without power.
