Dingle arrested at Zak’s Emmerdale funeral as she swears ‘this isn’t over’ | Soaps

Tina Dingle (now played by Samantha Power) made a shock return in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale and despite only being in the villa for a few hours, she made a huge impact.

This week residents were left in mourning after learning that Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) had died.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Sam (James Hooton) left the Dales a few days ago for Scotland to bring Zak’s body home and bury him on the land of Dingle.

Tonight’s episode of the ITV soap began with Cain and Sam preparing Zak’s grave, a sight that Marlon (Mark Charnock) found difficult to process.

A funeral organized so quickly with the Dingles at the center was, perhaps unexpectedly, quite chaotic and noisy. At the pub, while some family and friends shared memories of Zak, Marlon, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy (Lisa Riley) went to karaoke to sing songs from Zak’s playlist.

After a while in the pub, the Dingles took Zak’s body to the Wishing Well. There, they laid his body to rest on the ground – though far from Shadrach Dingle, of course.

Just as celebrant Marlon was pondering what to say in front of the family, they were interrupted by a very loud voice from Tina Dingle.

It’s been almost 30 years since Tina was last in the village, meaning she hasn’t been able to recognize her young sister Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Despite her absence, Tina announced that she knew a lot about her relatives thanks to Mandy, who kept in touch.

With the funeral moving, the Dingles continued to wonder why Tina suddenly showed up, arguing that she didn’t really have the right to say goodbye to her father.

The old man disagreed and began to finish everyone off, writing down their criminal records.

After Mandy found photos of Wishing Well on Tina’s phone, the feisty character announced that she believed she was entitled to part of the building.

She then turned her attention to Lydia (Karen Blick) and wondered what she really saw in her brother Sam.

Injured, Lydia pushed Tina, causing her to fall into a huge pile of mud.

It was a hilarious moment and as Tina looked for help, Lydia revealed that Zak’s will confirmed he left the house to Sam, Belle and Cain.

Still stuck on the floor, Tina was unable to hide the anklet, which was spotted by Charity (Emma Atkins).

When the family laughed at her hypocrisy, a police car showed up.

Obviously.

Fortunately, it was not PC Swirling, but two other police officers who had arrived to collect Tina.

Steve pointed out to Tina that her tag wasn’t coming out until tomorrow, which meant she had broken the rules.

The character walked past her family and prepared to leave the Dales in a police car. Before that, though, she turned around and told the Dingles that ‘this isn’t over!’.

Discussing her arrival on the show, Samantha Power told us: ‘My husband said he’s never seen me so nervous. My first scene on the first day was at the graveside with ALL the Dingles! That’s very right! Luckily everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I must give a special thanks to Lisa Riley, the nicest human being.

‘When I met her at the screen test I felt so safe, she couldn’t have been more generous, supportive and encouraging and this continued daily on set! I loved working with her!

‘She’s aggressive, bold, selfish and always seems to have an agenda and will stop at nothing to get what she wants!’ she added, describing her new character.

“Tina is very good at manipulating people, especially the Dingles, so I don’t think any of them are safe.”
