Bloober Team Reveals Their Next Project After the Silent Hill 2 Remake; It's even scarier

Bloober Team made an appearance during the Xbox Partner Program, revealing their new game after Silent Hill 2.

The Polish developer’s latest project is titled Cronos: The New Dawn and will be released next year.

The Silent Hill 2 remake, on the other hand, has not yet been released on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Bloober is super busy these days as he ramps up development on another project hot on the heels of Silent Hill 2. The Polish developer made an appearance during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, revealing another game he’s working on. Cronos: The New Dawn looks incredibly interesting, with the “thriller” vibe fitting very well. However, I’m not sure if that name is doing the game a favor.

This is Bloober’s first attempt at the survival horror category when it comes to developing an original franchise. While the developer won millions of hearts with the Silent Hill 2 remake, it’s worth noting that remaking an existing title is very different compared to working on a new IP from scratch. It’s likely, however, that Bloober will end up nailing this project as well.

Welcome to Cronos: The New Dawn – a third-person survival horror game from Bloober Team! Delve deep into the heart of a deadly fight against overwhelming enemies as you unravel the mysteries of a twisted time travel story. Set in a dark world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futuristic technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future,” says the official release.

It appears that Cronos takes inspiration from a variety of games, including The Callisto Protocol and the most obvious, the Dead Space series. The trailer shows a dysmorphic monster, a character in an environmental suit who is apparently the protagonista woman who plays chess with this character and a mysterious atmosphere that is as hostile as it sounds.

It will be released next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC.

Bloober proved its worth with the quality of the Silent Hill 2 remake

Although it has not yet been released for Xbox, the remake of Silent Hill 2 is a celebration of the original 2001 classic, all thanks to the great effort of Bloober Team in producing this masterpiece. The developer has projects like Layers of Fear and Observer under its belt, but nothing like Silent Hill 2 has ever made it into its portfolio before, so the pressure on Bloober must have been intense.

It’s safe to say that Silent Hill 2 is a success, selling over 1 million copies in a week and strengthening the case for Bloober to receive more Silent Hill remakes.
