Readmond Township Voters to Consider Millage for Road Repair

READMOND TWP. – Voters in Readmond Township will see a five-year millage request on the November ballot to bring in funding to help with road repairs.

Borough voters are being asked to vote on a $1 million proposal, allowing the county to raise funds from 2024-2028. The millage would bring in about $90,922 annually to the county.

Voters in Carp Lake and Springvale counties approved similar requests for $1 million in road repair funding during the August election.

The formal proposal says:

“This proposal will allow Readmond Township to enforce the tax limitation imposed by Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1 million ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of five years, from 2024 to 2028 inclusive, to provide funds to repair and improve roads in Readmond Township, the estimated revenue Readmond Township will raise if the millage is approved in 2024 is $90,922 per year.

The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5th.
