One accused after random incident involving sweater and sexual comments

Sault Police have charged a 35-year-old man following two incidents that occurred Thursday morning.

A 911 call received at 8:35 a.m. described an unwanted person at a business in the 600 block of North Avenue who was making inappropriate comments to employees.

Police say the accused followed a victim on her way to work and tried to take her sweater.

“Shortly afterwards, the accused entered the business and made sexual comments to two other victims. The victims and the accused are unknown to each other. The victims suffered no physical injuries,” police said in a news release.

Then, around 10 a.m., officers responded to another unwanted person call in the 200 block of Elizabeth Street. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested 35-year-old Michel Koussaye.

Police charged Koussaye with assault, criminal harassment x2 and failure to comply with a probation order x2 for both incidents. The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Koussaye is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
