Husco announces $200 million in contracts and plans to hire 250 workers

Husco International says it has received $200 million in new contracts that will lead to 250 new hires, including about 100 jobs in Wisconsin.

The company made the announcement Thursday during a national Equipment Manufacturers Association event at its headquarters in Waukesha. Husco also announced $55 million in new capital investment.

Husco is an engineering and manufacturing company for industries including automotive and off-highway equipment.

Headquartered in Waukesha, with operations in the United States, India, China, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Germany, the privately held company has shifted more resources to the growing electric vehicle market.

New work includes:

  • A new contract with an American automaker to supply drive wheel disconnect components that increase fuel economy.
  • New contract with American automaker to supply on/off valves that deactivate engine cylinders and improve fuel economy.
  • A new contract with a commercial vehicle manufacturer to supply on/off valves that allow engine braking.
  • New contracts with five Tier 1 automotive suppliers to supply components used in clutches, oil pumps, camshaft phasing, transmission control, cylinder deactivation and engine braking.
  • New contracts with multiple global off-highway vehicle original equipment manufacturers, including implement control, braking, transmission and steering applications.
  • Several new contracts to supply main control valves for large, medium and mini excavators.
  • A new contract to supply a two-speed transmission for electric cars at a global automaker.

“While our industry is constantly evolving, one thing has not changed: manufacturing is critical to the success of our region, our state and our country,” Husco CEO Austin Ramirez said in a statement.

“Having a strong industrial base benefits our economy and our workforce. It makes our nation more resilient in an unpredictable international environment.”

The company is prohibited from disclosing details of the manufacturers it works with. The company manufactures components that are used in commercial vehicles, construction and other off-highway applications.

Husco, a privately held company specializing in high-performance hydraulic and electromechanical components, serves many major automakers, including Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen.
