Reward offered for information after 2 injured in southwest Miami-Dade shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – Miami-Dade and Florida Keys Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward Friday after police confirmed that a shooting injured a teenager and another individual in southwest Miami-Dade earlier this week.

It happened Tuesday night in the area of ​​the Cutler Manor Apartments along the 10000 block of Southwest 216th Street.

According to police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found a 17-year-old man who had been shot. Authorities have not released any information about the second victim involved in the shooting.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and rushed the teen to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition, authorities said.

On Wednesday, police said more than 20 bullet holes were visible in a metal fence and two cars were found shot up. One of the vehicles appears to have been hit more than 10 times.

Authorities said the culprit or culprits fired approximately 13 shots toward an apartment building and were driving a light-colored sedan at the time of the incident.

Neighbors say shootings are very common in the area.

“More than 30. I would say it was like a machine gun,” one resident told Local 10 News the day after the shooting.

Detectives went to the crime scene Wednesday night to collect shell casings, but no arrests were made as the investigation continues.

Police have not revealed the teen’s identity, but confirmed he was in stable condition Wednesday night.
