The Skoda Kylaq’s competitor will be the Mahindra XUV 3X0 among others and here is how they compare.

One of the newest SUVs in the sub-4 meter segment is the Mahindra XUV 3X0, which is much more than just the Mahindra XUV300 facelift. The SUV has undergone major changes in almost every aspect, from design to features. That said, there will soon be a new competitor – the Skoda Kylaq.

The Skoda Kylaq will be the automaker’s first product in the segment, ready to also face competition from other automakers, such as Hyundai, Kia, Tata and Maruti Suzuki. Let’s see how the upcoming Skoda Kylaq compares to the Mahindra XUV 3X0 in terms of engine specifications.

Skoda Kylaq vs Mahindra XUV 3X0 – Engine Specifications

The Skoda Kylaq will be offered with a single engine option – a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit paired with either a manual or torque converter automatic gearbox. The Mahindra XUV 3X0, on the other hand, is offered with a choice of two petrol engines and a diesel unit. For comparison, we only look at gasoline engines.

Engine Specifications Kylaq XUV3X0
Displacement 1.0 liter turbo petrol 1.2 liter turbo petrol
Power 114 hp 110 hp | 129 hp
Torque 178Nm 200Nm | 230Nm
Gearbox MT/AT MT/AT

On paper, the Kylaq’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is more powerful than the base XUV 3X0 offering, while the latter offers more torque. However, the TGDi engine in the XUV 3X0 produces more power than the Kylaq while producing more torque.
