Liam Payne spent his final days performing acts of generosity, sending needy children to needy children.

The beloved One Direction star’s untimely death sent shockwaves through his fan base after the 31-year-old fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday.

Following the tragedy, details of his final days emerged, with the 2010 X Factor star using his extraordinary wealth for good, donating to several online GoFundMe pages.

In a series of videos on Snapchat, the site where Payne posted just hours before his death, he shared how much he hated seeing little ones in pain.

Consequently, he has donated thousands to his causes, explaining how his seven-year-old son Bear inspired the act of kindness.

‘I’ve always felt very lucky to be in the position I’m in and my life aspiration has been to be a superhero… but I can’t fly, I’m not a great mechanic, I haven’t been affected by radiation, and I’m not incredibly strong ‘, he began.

“All I know is that there are websites where you can donate to sick children who need your help.”

Encouraging fans to show compassion, he continued: “It doesn’t matter how small the donation is, or how big the donation is.

‘All that matters is that you look into that child’s eyes and realize…as a parent, it hits me a little differently because I look at them and if that was my child, I would want everyone in the world to just look at me. Please look at me and help me.

‘Over the last few nights I’ve been spending some time on GoFundMe, a fantastic website. But I’m not sure about the tipping issue, guys, you need to sort this out because it’s not right; We should give kids tips, man.

‘I would like to understand more. If anyone from GoFundMe wants to contact me to tell me how this works, I’d love to know, but I’ve been going night after night, trying to finalize people’s donations so they can get the operations they need.

Payne concluded: “It is despicable that, in 2024, these children will have to pay for these medicines that would be free in my country.”

Young people helped by Payne, whether for life-saving treatment or after a school shooting, included a 28-year-old American called Jack, who received £2,300 after suffering stage 4 B-cell lymphoma.

Payne is said to be worth a staggering £46 million. In an emotional interview in 2022, he said he would give everything to his only son, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Cheryl.

He said, ‘My life is his now, my money is his. In fact, I have several companies going that I know he could run one day if he wanted to or (he could sell them).’

Payne also declared Cheryl ‘the best mother in the world’, as the Girls Aloud singer now strives to protect her as he grows up without his father.

What else has Liam Payne done for charity?

Payne’s charitable work has been well documented since he rose to fame as a teenager.

For two years, Payne participated in Soccer Aid for Unicef, an annual charity soccer match that raises money for children in war and hardship.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Wolverhampton-born singer has funded more than 360,000 meals for people in crisis, helping more than 100 food banks across several cities.

“I want to play my part in finding a solution that ensures people have enough money to buy their own food – and end the need for food banks,” Payne said at the time.
