Shocked passengers and bus driver stop woman being attacked by her partner in Valencia

A VALENCIA bus driver and passengers intervened to stop a man from beating a woman who refused to get off the bus with him.

The attacker was arrested by the National Police while social services workers helped the victim.

The incident happened on EMT Valencia line 64 on Thursday night, when the bus stopped at the Genera Avilés-Miguel Servet stop.

A passenger tried to force his companion off the bus and repeatedly hit and pushed her, while she screamed and asked for help.

Other travelers intervened and stood beside the women to protect her while the driver left his post and ordered the man to leave alone.

The driver told him that “no one can force a person to get off the bus if they don’t want to”.

The attacker refused to back down and the driver locked all the doors and the passengers continued to protect the victim.

The National Police were called and boarded the vehicle and detained the man.

Two inspectors from EMT Valencia also attended the scene.
