“What We Do in the Shadows,” the vampire comedy mockumentary series inspired by the Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi film of the same name, is coming to an end after six seasons.

The 11-episode Season 6 promises to tie up some loose ends for our supernatural friends and their lives on Staten Island while remaining enjoyable for new viewers, co-executive producer and writer Paul Simms told multiple media outlets.

At the end of season 5, we saw Guillermo (Harvey Guillen), once again human, decide to give up his long-awaited vampire status. In season 6, we can expect to see him struggling to find a new purpose in life, leaving the vampire house to take a more traditional job. Meanwhile, viewers will meet a new character, the long-forgotten roommate Jerry, who was previously in a 50-year “super sleep.”

With the vampires facing their own existential dread after realizing they hadn’t accomplished much in Jerry’s absence, they too will try their hand at typical 9-to-5 jobs, likely with disastrous results. The new season also promises the appearance of Baron Afanas (Doug Jones) in a less decrepit and never-before-seen light.

Here’s what you should know about the final season premiere of “What We Do in the Shadows.”
