I’m British and went on holiday to America – I can’t believe the dangerous items they stock in supermarkets

I’m British and went on holiday to America – I can’t believe the dangerous items they stock in supermarkets

A British woman was shocked by the “unbalanced” products on sale in a major US supermarket.

A shopper named Hannah, whose TikTok offers helpful shopping and parenting hacks, was shocked and thought her head was going to “explode” after spotting the quirky item for sale at a New Hampshire Walmart.

The mother was impressed not only by the easy access to the dangerous product, but also by its placement, which according to her video, was strangely close to the children’s toys.

In a clip posted to the platform, Hannah couldn’t believe her eyes when she came across a rack of loaded guns that customers could purchase at will – and worst of all, its position next to shelves of children’s night lights.

Hannah also saw a sophisticated array of junk food, namely cake ingredients, all carefully ordered by type: including mixes, flavors and toppings – everything she said gave her a “terrible headache”.

“Do you need anything from the store, dear?” “Oh yes, some broccoli, a tub of butter big enough to take a shower in and a .44 caliber rifle please” “Great, I’ll see you in a bit.” Like, hello? You shouldn’t be able to walk into a supermarket, show some ID (oh, and I bet it’s always legit!) and just buy something so dangerous. And the fact that two aisles away you can buy a large print book of Daily Devotionals for Children is disturbing. Some consistency at least please! #walmart #america #cultureshock

She noted that Brits were used to at most four variations at Tesco, and that the containers here were much smaller in comparison.

“I’m in Walmart in America and my head is going to explode,” Hannah said.

— I’ve been here five minutes and I have a terrible headache. My eyes really hurt. I need to show some of the more unbalanced stuff here – but it’s really cool.’

At first, Hannah noticed a unique selection of cake mixes from country music legend Dolly Parton’s brand. Among them were cinnamon, banana and blueberry flavors.

Although she was initially “100% on board” with the sweet treats, she was shocked by what she saw next as she walked up and down the aisles.

As she walked through the grocery store, she pointed out the surprising displays of ready-made cake mixes and ingredients.

“I just can’t get over it — this is just cake mix and cake frosting,” she continued.

‘At Tesco we have about four. Everything is huge, I feel like a debtor. (And) look at this.’

She then pointed to a collection of butterfats and noted the size of the jars.

Then the content creator moved on to the “best” and “absolutely mental” part, which she described as a “bear-shaped archery target.”

But little did Hannah know that something even more bizarre was lurking around the corner.

She said, ‘If you want to come and buy a gun with bullets, you can do it… and then I’ll stand here and look at the guns and here’s your son’s night light.’

In the video, a glass and wood display case was the only barrier blocking access to a large rifle exhibition.

The guns were labeled in two places, including what appeared to be small white registers displaying various prices.

‘What…America, are you okay?’ she asked, visibly shocked.

It didn’t end there. According to the influencer, she saw ‘acorn attack deer lure’ – a lure used to hunt deer – ‘so you can (inaudible) the deer’.

Hannah made a guttural sound as she made a chopping gesture – perhaps indicating that the product was intended for killing deer.

‘Oh, I feel so overwhelmed,’ she said. ‘I need a nap’.

After summing up the bizarre experience, she concluded that there were some “amazing things.”

‘Everything you could want is at Walmart. It’s quite an experience,” she added.

‘I’m going to buy things for my children and I’ll make a collection’.
