Suspect wanted in 2019 Clarksville murder arrested in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WSMV) – A task force from the United States Marshals Service of Middle Tennessee located and arrested a man wanted for a 2019 murder in Clarksville.

On October 17, 2024, Task Force Two Rivers was dispatched to a home on South Mendenhall Road in southeast Memphis. Officers located 22-year-old Turnity Rossell at the residence and took him into custody.

Rossell was wanted in the shooting death of 22-year-old Serdyrin Brown, who was killed following an incident at a Clarksville apartment complex on Oct. 28, 2019. That day, Clarksville police officers responded to a shooting at the Hand Village complex and found Brown suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he died, according to the report.

Rossell was identified more than three and a half years later, and arrest warrants were issued for his arrest on June 4, 2024. A few months later, the U.S. Marshals Middle Tennessee Task Force discovered that Rossell was in the Memphis area. , which led to his latest arrest. week.

Fugitive apprehension teams from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the Memphis Police Department assisted in Rossell’s arrest.

Rossell was booked into the Shelby County Detention Center and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.
