(ABC 6 News) – Constitutional amendments will be available to voters in Iowa and Minnesota on the ballot in November.

In Iowa, voters have two constitutional amendments to consider.

The first would allow Iowans who are 17 years old to vote in primaries as long as they turn 18 at the time of the general election.

The amendment also changes the constitutional voting age to 18 instead of 21. This is already in practice in the state, but approval would codify the issue.

The Second Amendment would adjust gubernatorial succession.

If a governor with approval requires a replacement, the lieutenant governor automatically assumes the position until the end of the elected term. The new governor would then appoint his lieutenant governor.

Currently, the president of the Iowa Senate would become lieutenant governor.

Meanwhile, voters in Minnesota just have to consider a constitutional amendment.

Voters will decide whether revenue from state lottery tickets will continue to be used to fund environmental programs. It has been around since 1988 and donates 40% of lottery proceeds to conservation projects across the state.
