Woman claims student used AI to write English exam

With those enrolled well on their way to taking their exams, we can say that parents and teachers are feeling the pressure.

An educator who is also a staunch supporter of changing the way we view exams and teach our students has caused some excitement online by presenting some satirical content.

She took to social media yesterday and caused some alarm among social media users when she said that a matric student was caught using AI to write his essay on his English Paper 3.

People were shocked by the announcement, especially since she claimed to be the principal of Golden Gates High School and that they found a student with her phone using AI to write his essay in English.

In her defense, she seemed trustworthy. Government officials have assured that there are measures in place to combat any fraud or document leaks, but anything is possible. South Africans are always looking for some drama…

But after her video alarmed many people, she set the record straight. She made a follow-up video sharing insights into her thoughts on education, particularly how to get students to take exams.

She shared that exams do not accurately assess students’ understanding of what they have learned. She went on to share more information on the subject.
