Coroner identifies woman who died in Castanea fire; MH Police ask public for more information about incident | News, sports, jobs

CASTANEA — Clinton County Coroner Zach Hanna has released a statement identifying the individual who died in a trailer fire Monday afternoon in Castanea Township.

The fire occurred around noon on Oct. 21 at 200 E. Keller St., Lot 15, and saw the entire structure engulfed in flames when emergency crews responded.

It was previously reported that one person and two pets died in the fire.

“I can confirm that Ms. Barbara Hummer was pronounced dead at the scene by myself,” Hanna disclosed Tuesday. “It was determined that Ms. Hummer died as a result of the trailer fire.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Mill Hall Municipal Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of ​​the trailer when the fire broke out to call the department at 570-726-4597 or 570-748-2936.
