3 found dead in British care home and 4 hospitalized after ‘unexplained’ incident

LONDON (AP) — Three people were found dead Wednesday and four others were hospitalized after an “unexplained” incident at a nursing home in southern England, police said.

Dorset Police said they were investigating. Gainsborough Care Home in Swanage was evacuated and there was no further risk to the public.

A Southern Gas Network spokesperson said it was called to the house for an emergency and engineers were waiting for access to carry out a safety check.

“Our thoughts are with everyone who was affected by this tragic incident,” said spokeswoman Katie Lobban.
