Bukola Adubi, CEO of MicCom Cables and Wires, has called on Nigeria to urgently harness its vast economic potential to drive industrial growth and transformation.

Speaking at the 30th Nigeria Economic Summit in Abuja, themed “Collaborative Action for Growth, Competitiveness and Stability”, Adubi emphasized the need to face the country’s economic challenges head-on.

Adubi urges Nigeria to harness growth potential

She moderated a high-profile CEO roundtable with industry heavyweights such as Tola Adeyemi, CEO of KPMG West Africa; Farouk Gumel, vice president of Tropical General Investment Group (TGI); and Winifred Isichei, CEO of Bonita Foods.

The roundtable theme – “The Path to Rapid Industrialization”, explored strategies to improve Nigeria’s industrial sector and the collaborative actions needed to achieve sustainable growth.

Highlighting the need to celebrate Nigeria’s achievements and promote confidence in local capabilities, Adubi stressed that harnessing the nation’s strengths could create a ripple effect, positioning Nigeria as a leading industrial power in Africa.

“A critical takeaway from the discussions was the need for our country to celebrate our successes, trust our capabilities and capitalize on our strengths. By doing so, we can trigger a multiplier effect that will propel Nigeria to become the continent’s industrial powerhouse,” Adubi noted.

She also underscored the urgency of skills development, especially in technical and vocational education, as a critical solution to overcoming obstacles hindering Nigeria’s industrialization.

In closing remarks, Adubi expressed great pride in Nigeria’s potential and called for continued efforts to establish the nation as a beacon of success across Africa.

Nigerian cable manufacturer breaks new record

Legit.ng previously reported that in a groundbreaking achievement, MicCom Cables has emerged as a pioneer among Nigerian cable manufacturers by obtaining two additional international certifications: ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 45001:2018 for Healthcare Occupational and Safety Management System (SGSSO).

With this addition, MicCom Cables now has a comprehensive set of all three ISO standards integrated, setting a new standard of excellence in the industry.
