NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma football team hosts Ole Miss on Thursday night in Norman for the home regular-season finale in a must-win game with postseason implications on the line. The first ring is scheduled for 8pm on the SEC Network.

OU fell 3-1 at Missouri on Friday. Sooner forward Leonie Weber broke the club’s three-game scoreless streak with his program-record fifth penalty goal.

The Sooners are 15th in the SEC standings with four points. The top 12 teams in the table compete in the conference tournament, with Tennessee and Alabama representing the eight-point cutoff line. OU would be eliminated from SEC Tournament contention with a win by Tennessee, Texas A&M and Alabama or an early loss.

All about Oklahoma: The Sooners are 8-7-1 this season and are 15th in the SEC standings with four points in the conference.

Leo leads the way: Leonie Weber has broken into the program’s top 10 in career points this season, currently in sixth place with 53. She needs one more to catch Lauren MacIver (54) in fifth place.

Oklahoma on offense: Oklahoma’s offense has produced 33 goals this fall, currently the seventh-best single-season mark in program history. The program’s all-time record in a single season is 37 goals, recorded in the 2005 and 2010 campaigns.

Defensive Domain: Oklahoma’s defense has impressed in non-conference games, limiting opponents to just five goals on 5.00 shots per game.

Backline Highlights: Caroline Duffy has a savings rate of 76.5%, while the group of Meredith King, Cassie Clifton, Cailey England and Andie Wolfe logged 94.8% of available backline minutes this fall.

Historical helpers: Alexis Washington is one assist away from breaking the Oklahoma career record of 18 held by Lauren MacIver. Leonie Weber needs one to tie Washington and MacIver for the program’s career mark.

Oh Captain, Our Captain: Cailey England is Oklahoma’s new career leader in games played (88) and minutes played (7,595), breaking the previous record against Georgia (October 4) and the last record against Arkansas (October 13).

Outlook for 2024: The Sooners were selected 13th in the 2024 SEC Preseason Coaches Poll, splitting the rankings with Florida. Five athletes were named to the SEC preseason watch list as offensive linemen Hadley Murrell, Alexis Washington and Leonie Webermidfielder Cailey England and defender Andie Wolfe gained league recognition.

UO x SEC: OU Soccer embarks on its inaugural season in the SEC this fall and had the honor of playing in Oklahoma’s first regular season event as a member of the league (August 15 at North Texas) as well as the university’s first SEC league game ( September 19 vs. State of Mississippi).
