Liam Neeson will soon abandon his specific skill set.

Neeson, 72, announced that he was considering retiring from action films in 2025. “Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it,” the “Taken” star told People in an interview published Wednesday.

The actor is set to star in the action film “Absolution” next month, and although the film’s director, Hans Petter Moland, said Neeson has held up well, the actor is trying to be pragmatic.

“I’m 72 years old – this has to stop at some point,” he told the channel, who sometimes leaves certain moves to stuntman Mark Vanselow. “You can’t fool the audience. I don’t want Mark to fight in my fight scenes for me.”

2025 will be a busy year for Neeson, who is also set to star in the thriller “Cold Storage,” according to IMDb.

Also next year, Neeson will star alongside Pamela Anderson as the two reboot the “Naked Gun” franchise.

Pamela Anderson will star opposite Liam Neeson in ‘Naked Gun’ reboot

The “Baywatch” actress, 56, will star alongside Neeson as the love interest in a reboot of the crime comedy series that originally starred Leslie Nielsen, a rep for Anderson confirmed to USA TODAY earlier this year.

The film is expected to be released in July 2025, as previously announced by Paramount Pictures.

Based on the TV series “Police Squad!”, the original “Naked Gun” trilogy starred Nielsen as the dim-witted Lt. Frank Drebin. Priscilla Presley portrayed the love interest in all three films.

Neeson was full of praise for Anderson: “I’m madly in love with her,” he told People. “I can’t praise her enough. She’s funny.”

However, Neeson also opened up to People about dating, making it clear that he’s “over it all” since the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.
