Karnataka CM’s legal challenge: MUDA site attribution controversy

In a significant legal maneuver, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has appealed against a High Court ruling relating to the controversial MUDA site allotment case. The case, which has been a political focus, revolves around Siddaramaiah’s challenge to the governor’s approval for an investigation into the allotment of the site to his wife.

The division bench’s decision follows the rejection of Siddaramaiah’s earlier petition by Justice M Nagaprasanna. The judge noted that the government order did not lack “application of spirit”, effectively allowing the investigation to continue.

The Special Court, tasked with handling criminal cases against MPs and judicial deputies, quickly ordered a police investigation into Lokayukta. The case has now involved Siddaramaiah, his wife and others, with allegations of irregular distribution of high-value land in prime areas of Mysuru.
