PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 category honors classic games

The PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan and Asia will be held on December 3, 2024, and the awards will include a new category to celebrate 30 years since the release of original PlayStation games. Sony Interactive Entertainment also announced that user voting is available until November 7, 2024 on the official PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 website.

As part of the new PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 “PlayStation Generations Awards” category, users can vote for their favorite games on every PlayStation console released in the last 30 years. This includes the original PlayStation, as well as the PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, and PS4.

As for the standard categories, the top three titles developed in Japan and other Asian countries will receive the Grand Prize, and the top title will receive the Partner Prize. Additionally, the Excellence Award will be awarded to titles that have received the Grand Prize in three consecutive years, in recognition of the achievement.

Additionally, the Special Prize will be awarded to titles that have achieved outstanding achievements. The “Users’ Choice Awards” will be awarded to the five new titles released during 2024, selected by user voting, among the 30 most played titles in Japan and other Asian countries.

The PlayStation Partner Awards began as the PlayStation Awards in 1994, the year the original PlayStation console was released, as a way to celebrate game creators and developers who worked on titles for the console.

The voting period for the 2024 PlayStation Partner Awards is open until November 7, 2024, and winners will be announced on December 3, 2024.
