One dead after quarry incident

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – One person has died following an incident at a quarry in Rockcastle County.

Mount Vernon Police Department officials confirmed with our sister station WKYT that it happened Thursday morning at a quarry near Highway 150.

Police said a passenger car crashed into a loader at the scene. They told WKYT the driver died as a result.

The identity of the driver has not been released.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
