Two cats with injured ears need loving homes in Massachusetts

Two cats with injured ears need loving homes in Massachusetts

First impressions can be difficult for two cats at Dakin Humane Society in Springfield, both of whom have injured ears.

But they also have a lot of love to give to new families.

The condition causes the ear flap to become wrinkled and misshapen, resembling the shape of a cauliflower. It is caused by a hematoma, a blood-filled swelling in the ear flap that occurs when a blood vessel breaks, Dakin Humane Society told MassLive.

However, it doesn’t stand in his way.

He is described as “a friendly and playful cat with an adventurous spirit.” He enjoys spending time sitting next to people while they relax.

“His super fun and talkative personality makes him a great companion, and he absolutely adores pets,” the adoption profile reads. “Tiger loves playtime, so it’s important to make sure you have enough wands on hand to keep him busy. He is also a real climber and would love a house with wall shelves or scratching posts to explore.”

When he arrived at the humane society, he had an ear infection. His most recent physical exam revealed he has a “healed auditory hematoma,” also known as cauliflower ear, Dakin Humane Society said.

But all he needs is love.

“Rocky will greet you at the door like a true contender, always ready for some cheekies and affection,” the adoption profile reads. “One of his favorite moves? The ‘plop and roll’ – he loves to plop down on the floor with his belly up, ready for some well-deserved attention!”
