Parents shocked by inappropriate Halloween decor in children’s play area

Halloween is all about giving kids a good old-fashioned, spooky laugh, so Halloween decorations are a must in the nursery this October.

But one children’s play area in Britain went well beyond the usual ghosts, witches and pumpkins, and its display has left many parents furious.

Parents are shocked by the Halloween decorations in a children’s playground with body bags.

Rugrats and Halfpints in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, about 100 miles west of London, is an award-winning children’s play area with all kinds of climbing structures and ‘soft play areas’ where kids can tumble and jump and generally run amok. as a café for parents to enjoy.

It’s a great place to let off steam and a perfect location for a child’s birthday party. So you’d expect Rugrats and Halfpints’ choice of Halloween decorations to be more in the spooky and whimsical vein than something that will leave one parent ‘shocked’. and another does a “double take.”

But at the back of a room, behind a large play structure, hangs a series of body bags decorated with “caution tape.”

The body bags, disguised as Halloween decor, hang from play equipment and are tied together with elastic bands in a manner reminiscent of a gruesome murder.

I admit that I think today’s parents overreact to absolutely everything 99% of the time. But this “decor” is…um…horrific? It’s not just body bags; they are body bags tied with what appear to be bungee cords around the neck of the corpse inside, like a murderer would do before burying them in the woods or something.

But instead of being buried, Rugrats and Halfpints left them hanging from a piece of play equipment like a rack of meat. The whole thing looks like something out of a serial killer documentary.

It’s creepy and macabre on a level that wouldn’t be thought provoking one of those haunted houses Many of us enjoy visiting this time of year. But what essentially is a daycare playroom? Erm…. guys? Does everyone there work with common sense?!

“When I saw them I did a double take,” one mother told Sky News in the United Kingdom. ‘That can’t be what I think it is, can it? I just didn’t want to have to explain to my child what they were.”

Just imagine: “Well, pumpkin, sometimes people go crazy and slit someone’s throat from ear to ear, then wrap them in black plastic and bury them in the local forest area. Now run along and play!”

The children’s playground quickly apologized and removed the decorations.

To Rugrats and Halfpints’ credit, they have been understanding and accommodating of the accident. In a statement to Sky News, a spokesperson said they had never received any complaints before but were still taking the matter seriously.

“This is the first time anyone has brought it to our attention,” the statement read, “so we will of course remove them immediately. It was not to cause any inconvenience, and we apologize this way. have felt.”

Naturally, some thought the commotion was ridiculous and thought the parents who were complaining should lighten up – people often have end up taking innocent things way too seriously nowadays. But another parent, that one said in an X post that they had seen the decorations in person summed up the issue perfectly.

Saying that the display reminded them of “something from an ISIS video,” they pointed out that it is a difference between ‘spooky’ and ‘horror’. It’s hard to argue that this show didn’t cross that line, and that “horror” probably doesn’t belong next to the kids’ ball pit.

Of course, the inappropriate nature of the situation also inspired a few jokes: the idea of having something so twisted and creepy in a children’s play area IS inherently hilarious (at least to an outsider).

A woman on

Hey, at least we can laugh about it! And thank our lucky stars that this happened in the UK and not the US, because if this had happened in the local Gymboree, American parents would have already filed charges at the International Criminal Court in The Hague!
