Rockdale ISD teacher under investigation has been arrested

MILAM COUNTY, Texas (KXXV) – Rockdale Independent School District is investigating what is now believed to be a false threat after authorities determined the threat report was fake.

Someone anonymously reported a potential threat to the district’s QuickTip security tool Thursday evening.

After swift action by the district security team and the chief inspector, a comprehensive investigation was launched. Law enforcement officials diligently tracked down the origin of the threat and discovered that a teacher had made it.

The Milam Sheriff’s Department, Federal Bureau and U.S. Secret Service conducted the investigation Thursday from 8 p.m.

On Friday, Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore said they tapped the IP address used to make the threat, which led them to a teacher at a Rockdale high school who later admitted to making a false threat.

The teacher has been arrested and their identities have not yet been released.
